Digital scrapbooking is the same as traditional scrapbooking, except you are using the tools on your computer software instead of the tools in your scrapbooking closet. There are many advantages to digital scrapbooking: no special tools to buy (except the software), no papers to put in storage, no paper to waste. You can print your layouts or you can just email or share them on Facebook. It can be challenging to learn, but well worth it. So enjoy the process! Learn more about the time-saving and cost-saving advantages of digital scrapbooking.
Step 1. Choose a Computer. What kind of computer should you use for digital scrapbooking? For most people, it usually comes down to using a Mac or PC.

The best part about digital scrapbooking is you can REUSE all of your purchased graphics. You can duplicate them, mix and match them with other kits. It's WAY less money than paper scrapbooking. No more, "I ran out of this or that and have to go to the store!"
You can create multiple copies of one book simply by printing them. There are basically two ways you can print your digital scrapbooks.
Make sure to have your digital scrapbook printed by a lab that will do it justice. The local pharmacy or cheapest internet lab isn’t usually a great choice for high quality prints. There are lots of professional-grade online labs if you don’t have a local one or you can use a digital scrapbook printing service like Shutterfly.
Or you can invest in an awesome printer like the HP that prints 8" x 8" or 12" x 12" scrapbook pages. Don't forget to calibrate your monitor so that you know “what-you-see-is-what-you’ll-get.”
You can also share flattened layouts on Facebook or your personal blog. The best way to do this is to save each page "for web" before you upload them. After all, you don't want people waiting forever to download a really large file!
