To commemorate Valentine’s Day, I designed a love timeline for our digital scrapbook highlighting milestones in our relationship. I often think back to my college years when I first met my husband. Then I look at the brilliantly smiling faces of our five children and chuckle inside with the realization that they are the wonderful result of falling in love with him way back then.
Creating this Love Timeline was so much fun! I loved pulling together old photos to see the progression from our first meeting to our latest family photo. My children really got a kick out of seeing the finished layout and trying to imagine that Mom and Dad actually had a life before kids.
Step 1: Convert Photos to Black & White
After I chose a few of my favorite photos, I converted them to black & white. It’s an instant way to give a cohesive look to photos that differ in color and style.
Step 2: Choose a Kit and Set-up the Layout
Then I created a grid pattern and interspersed the photos with papers found in my favorite love digital scrapbooking kit: the Immortal Love Digital Kit. In each of the paper squares I used additional embellishments from the Immortal Love Digital Scrapbooking Kit to give each square a unique look and personality – representative of the unique phases of my life with Gabe.
Step 3: Add Phrases
I used the Wicked Alphabet in Black to create short, explanatory phrases. My favorite phrase is ‘To be continued’ at the end of the layout. Because our story is far from over and I’m sure the best is yet to come :)
Love Timeline: A Different Take
In the Twitterpated layout below, I used my other favorite love digital scrapbooking kit—the Love Birds Digital Scrapbooking Kit. There’s nothing like those first feelings of being twitterpated when you’ve just started dating someone new. This digital scrapbook layout is a fun way to highlight those new feelings and a few key events in your relationship.
I used the swirly tree branch as a photo holder for all the photos. Each of the photos is accompanied by a tag with a brief description inside (I used a different font, but you could also create phrases using the matching Twig Alphabet in Bark). The result is a cheerful love timeline full of anticipation for the fun times ahead. It’s also a great way to show your loved one that you’re thinking about them on Valentine’s Day.
