Let’s say you want to draw a leprecahuan, where would you start?

Thanks to St. Patrick’s Day, the Notre Dame mascot, and Lucky Charms Cereal, you’d have a pretty good idea what to do. He’s short, wears a green coat, hat and some big buckles on his shoes. In Irish folklore, the mishcevious, green coat-wearing, shoemaking elf was known as the luchorpán – and was actually quity nasty-looking and mean (See Myths about St. Patrick’s Day). But, the project isn’t as clear cut as it seems, as I found out in the development for the Lucky Irish Digital Kit (left).

When we started the idea for the Trick-or-Treat Halloween Digital Scrapbooking Kit, my first thought was: “How fun it would be to create some original characters for this kit!” At the same time I was thinking it, Nicole was looking over at me saying, “We need some characters for this kit.” So, it was on!

Digital Scrapbooking Computer Software VIDEOProbably the most difficult obstacle to starting out in digital scrapbooking (other than buying a computer) is deciding what software to use. To scrapbook digitally, you will need a computer, and the software to edit your images. It will also help to have one of our digital kits!

The software question can be intimidating for beginners.

You may not have enough of an idea what features you need to make an educated decision. No one wants to invest money in something only to find out it doesn’t fit their needs.

  • So, how much is this going to cost you?
  • If you don’t have a lot of extra bucks, can you still find image editing software for little or no money at all?

There are enough varieties to fit most any budget and technical skill level. (more…)
